Content Submissions

We are passionate about providing a variety of educational and inspirational content related to inclusive recreation. Your contributions help us achieve this goal and are greatly appreciated by us and our audience.

How To Help

Our Volunteer page lists ways you can help us achieve our mission. If you have not seen it yet, please visit that page first.

How To Submit

Step 1: Get Your Topic Approved

Please contact our staff (or your assigned representative) with your content idea to make sure your idea/topic fits within our mission and has not already been covered recently to prevent duplicating content. We don't want you spending time creating something we can't use, so please let us know in advance.

Also, if you are struggling to come up with a topic feel free to reach out to us for ideas.

Step 2: Prepare Content

A) When creating your content it is very important that you follow the guidelines below:

  • Use People-First Language (example: "a person with a disability" instead of "a disabled person")
  • For blog articles, please make your article more than 500 words in length.
  • For videos, be sure to...
    • Verbally explain the activity as well as demonstrate it visually (as best as you can)
    • Avoid using background music, or use music that is in the public domain or has a Creative Commons license (so we can publish your video without copyright issues). If you are unsure, don't use it.

Here is a great video example and how simple/fun it can be: https://www.facebook.com/188264871877/videos/691237925101358 (Note: we'll add the intro and the music)

B) After creating your content...

  1. Write a short description (1 sentence) explaining what your content is about.
  2. Upload any files related to your content (videos, images, documents, etc.) to a file sharing platform, such as Dropbox, Google Drive or WeTransfer. We request that you include a headshot photo for blog articles, but that is optional.
NOTE: if you have multiple files, for simplicity, some file sharing services allow you to organize multiple files into a folder and share the whole folder, rather than each file individually.
  3. Copy the "Share" link to your content.

Step 3: Complete Submission Form
